I’m eligible to retire with an immediate annuity under FERS with the MRA +10 option. Doing this I would need take a reduced annuity. Are we able to continue our health insurance from the date we retire when we have elected to take a reduced annuity?

If anyone retires on an immediate annuity, be it voluntary, early voluntary, discontinued service, disability, or MRA+10 (either immediate or postponed) and has had FEHB 5 years prior to retirement, they would be eligible to continue FEHB into retirement at the same rate as current employees pay.

If you were not eligible for an immediate annuity when you left federal service, your annuity in the future is deferred. Deferred annuitants are not permitted to have their FEHB reinstated when the annuity commences.
