CSRS survivor annuity who plans to retire next year – will my Social Security benefit be reduced?

I am receiving a survivor annuity of a CSRS employee. He retired as an early-out qualifier at age 55 and passed away from cancer when he was 56, in 1994. He neither paid into nor was eligible for Social Security benefits. Will my own (I’m not a Federal employee) SS benefits be reduced by WEP/GPO?

No. And the reason they will not apply to you is the Government Pension Offset applies your collecting Social Security against your spouse’s record when you have a pension from work not covered by Social Security such as CSRS and the Windfall Elimination Provision applies to your Social Security when you have a pension from work not covered by Social Security.
