Does military buy back time count for years of service when calculating retirement SCD?

I am buying back my military time (22 yrs 10 mos), which will add to my current 13 yrs civil service. Does that mean, since I am under FERS that I will I be eligible for immediate retirement at my MRA of 56 with 35 years 10 mos of service?

In a related matter, does waiving military retirement pay at retirement (in order to combine my creditable years) also waive VA disability compensation?

You are correct, making the military deposit will allow you to combine your military and civilian time for retirement eligibility and computation and you must waive the active duty military retirement. This waiver has no impact on your VA disability compensation.
