FERS MRA or 60 + 20 annuity

I am 60 yrs old with 20 years creditable service my current annuity would be $689 a month (just applied) if I selected to start now. Or I think I can go back and start at my MRA when I was 56 for a reduced monthly $489 annuity but get back pay for each year up to now. Is that correct?

Per Chapter 42 of the CSRS Handbook, page 9, it states: A former employee who has not begun receiving a postponed MRA + 10 annuity may still elect to receive an annuity retroactively to the first of the month following separation from his or her last period of Federal employment. However, an intermediate retroactive date may not be chosen. https://www.opm.gov/retirement-services/publications-forms/csrsfers-handbook/c042.pdf
