I am currently 57 years of age with a total of 33 years service – 19 years of those years federal service and 14 military service. I have also completed my military buyback. Will I be able to fully retire now or will I be subject to a reduction?

Since you have reached your Minimum Retirement Age and have 30 or more years of creditable service (because you made your military deposit) you can retire on an immediate unreduced retirement.

Voluntary retirement, MRA+30 or age 60 with 20 or more years of service, is one of the retirement options that pays the FERS Retiree Supplement immediately. However, when calculating the supplement, the supplement only uses full calendar years of federal civilian service. In this example, the supplement will be based on 19 years. The 14 years of military service will not be used in the computation even though the military deposit is satisfied UNLESS some of the military service interrupted the civilian service.

Does this include retired military buying back? I understand the supplemental only applies for the time served in civil service.

The computation of the supplement only uses full calendar years of civilian service. The rules for creditable service for the supplement and the rules for creditable service for retirement are different.
